CONNOR RIPLEY has returned to Middlesbrough, but Connor Roberts has left Teesside after his loan deal from Swansea City was cancelled by mutual consent.
Roberts was brought to Teesside by former Boro boss Garry Monk, but managed just four senior appearances during his time at the Riverside.
The right-back played in all three of Boro’s Carabao Cup games as well as the Championship defeat at Leeds United, but Tony Pulis did not see him featuring in his first-team plans and recommended the 22-year-old returned to the Liberty Stadium.
While Roberts is back in Wales, Ripley has returned to Teesside after his loan at Championship club Burton Albion was also cancelled.
Ripley joined Burton in the summer, shortly after signing a new contract with Middlesbrough, but the 24-year-old goalkeeper has found himself playing second fiddle to Brewers number one Stephen Bywater for the majority of his time at the Pirelli Stadium.
He made five appearances for Burton in the first half of the season, three of which came in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup.
