FULHAM (4-1-4-1):
Button 6; Fredericks 7, Ream 6, Kalas 6, SESSEGNON 8; McDonald 7; Ojo 7, Johansen 5 (Kamara 70, 6); Norwood 7 (Cisse 90), Ayite 6 (Kebano 42, 5); Fonte 5.
Subs (not used): Bettinelli (gk), Odoi, Mollo, Djalo.
MIDDLESBROUGH (4-4-2):
8 Randolph: Made three crucial first-half saves, with the pick seeing him scramble away Norwood’s goal-bound free-kick
6 Christie: Suffered a torrid first half against Sessegnon, but regrouped successfully after the break and drilled home the equaliser
6 Fry: Won a number of headers as Fulham threw plenty of balls into the box and always had the measure of Fonte
6 Gibson: Teamed up with Fry to repel a series of balls from the flank and marshalled the rest of the back four effectively
6 Fabio: Had some difficult moments against the lively Ojo, but stuck to his task before a kick to the calf forced him off
6 Baker: Offered Christie some welcome defensive protection in the second half and came close with a good first-half strike
7 Clayton: Returned after his midweek suspension and produced plenty of energy and effort at the base of midfield
8 HOWSON: Boro’s best player by a distance as he hassled and harried in defence and played some probing passes in attack
6 Johnson: Flashed a good first-half strike just past the post, but had one of those afternoons when nothing quite came off
6 Bamford: Restored to the starting line-up after his midweek double, but wasn’t able to forge a goalscoring position
6 Assombalonga: Found himself well marked for the most part, but continued to make runs into the heart of the penalty area
Subs:
Friend (for Fabio, 75)
Fletcher (for Bamford, 75)
Downing (for Assombalonga, 89)
(not used): Konstantopoulos (gk), Shotton, Leadbitter, Tavernier.
Man Of The Match: RYAN SESSEGNON – The Fulham full-back caused a succession of problems as he rampaged forward and delivered the cross for his side’s goal – at the age of just 17, he is a star of the future.
