AFTER our polls to select the best-ever XI of Darlington, Newcastle and Middlesbrough, The Northern Echo is giving supporters the chance to choose their own club’s greatest all-time line-up.
This week, it is the turn of Hartlepool United.
The club is about to enter a new chapter in its history. After the success of the early 2000s under IOR when Pools were regular promotion and play-off contenders, it’s gone downhill since – culminating in relegation from the Football League.
As they prepare for life in the National League under new boss Craig Harrison, with new owners, a new badge, new kits and a new outlook, we ask fans who deserves a place in the club’s greatest line-up?
We have selected a shortlist of goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards – and want you to pick a team in a 4-3-3 formation.
Voting closes on Thursday, July 20, and the winning team will be published in The Northern Echo on Saturday, July 22.
