BLAIR ADAMS, it’s fair to say, already has a decent record at Victoria Park.

Hartlepool United’s sixth summer signing, Blair has two 5-0 victories under his belt at the home of his new club.

After starting out with Sunderland, the South Shields-born left-back was part of the Coventry side which won 5-0 at Pools in John Hughes’ first game in charge in 2012 and was with Cambridge for the same scoreline last season.

After leaving the Us, Adams had a spell in Scotland with Hamilton before becoming a free agent this summer.

Now the 25-year-old is looking forward to getting some regular game time at Pools after a disappointing last 12 months.

“It’s been good to come and try and get some game time, last couple of seasons I’ve not played as regular as I would like to I’m pleased to get it arranged,’’ he admitted in an interview with Pools Player.

“The manager is positive, I met him and he had good things to say, very positive and it’s an exciting him.

“The bad patches have been behind the club and it’s about looking forward.

“I want to be a part of it.’’

And Adams, who will be back in training on Monday when Pools reconvene for pre-season, will be catching up with a couple of former team-mates.

Adams admitted: “There’s some momentum building here now, some really impressive signings. I’m a local lad, so kept tabs on the North-East sides and I’m impressed with some of the signings.

“I played with Scott Loach at Notts County and know Ryan Donaldson too.

“It was good to chat and Loachy is really excited, we are both keen to get going again.’’

Harrison has also landed Jake Cassidy, Luke George and Jack Munns and is still looking for at least one more recruit, with Pools short at centre-half.

Adams added: “This is a chance to play regular football for me. The gaffer was keen to get me in, so it’s up to me now to impress and cement down a place.

“We all want a manager who values them and I’m excited to get going. It’s always easier to know a few players and being local I’ll settle in quick.

“We know how hard the league is, but I know plenty of players who have, we are under no illusions.’’

Pools have unveiled their new away kit, after signing a deal with BLK. Primarily in grey, the shirt has teal-coloured stripes, with matching grey shorts and socks.

Manufactured with ‘Light Vapo’ material and using quick-drying and hydrophilic technology, the shirt is lightweight yet durable.

It features the new Pools crest and new partners Utility Alliance are main shirt sponsors.

Orders (adults £38, juniors £32) can be made online, at blksport.co.uk, with the home shirt unveiled in two weeks.
