HARRY REDKNAPP has rubbished theories he is in line to take over at Middlesbrough.
The former Tottenham and Portsmouth boss insists he has got ‘no chance’ of succeeding Aitor Karanka.
Redknapp has been linked with the role following Karanka’s departure, particularly after Joe Jordan was drafted in to assist head coach Steve Agnew.
But the 70-year-old does not think he will be heading to the Riverside Stadium, even if he thinks Jordan will be ideal in Boro’s battle to beat the drop.
Asked about suggestions he will be heading to Middlesbrough, Redknapp said: “No chance. I’m not even in the running. Not a prayer. Definitely not, no.”
But he added in an interview with TalkSport: “Joe is a good signing. He has gone up there. He will be a big help to young manager Steve Agnew. He is a steady, great guy and is a good bloke to have around in a crisis. I hope they do well.”
