Blyth Spartans 0 Spennymoor Town 0.
Spennymoor Town had to settle for a point in their local derby against Blyth at Croft Park.
There was little to choose between the two sides, and there weren’t many chances in the game in front of an 818 crowd.
Glen Taylor almost gave Moors the lead after 5 minutes, but Blyth then looked the more likely to score, with a shot by Michael Liddle flying just over the bar.
Moors nearly opened the scoring after 25 minutes when a good run by Louie Swain ended in a corner that James Curtis headed just wide, then a few minutes later Rob Ramshaw was just off target from a Shane Henry pass.
The teams cancelled each other out after that, but Moors finished the game the stronger. Henry missed a good chance from a Kallum Griffiths cross, then Blyth keeper Peter Jeffries held a low shot by Graeme Armstrong.
Lowson, Griffiths, Mason, Curtis, Swain, Ramshaw (sub Johnson 80), Chandler, Henry, Gott, Fisher (sub Dowson 60), Taylor (sub Armstrong 71)
