MIDDLESBROUGH will be promoted to the Premier League on Saturday if they avoid defeat on the final day of the season.

On the same day as Burnley celebrated a return to the top-flight by beating Queens Park Rangers 1-0, Brighton had earlier salvaged a point with a stoppage-time equaliser against Derby County at the Amex Stadium.

That means the Seagulls will head to the Riverside level on points with Middlesbrough this weekend, but sitting below them on goal difference. The pair will have a showdown for the right to join the Clarets in the top tier.

Brighton, who will head to Boro without suspended skipper Lewis Dunk, know they are guaranteed to finish in the top two if they win on Teesside.
