Striker Glen Taylor has agreed to return to Spennymoor on a two year deal from Ashington.

Taylor left Moors in their Northern League days after failing to hold down a regular place at the time, but he has improved considerably in the Northern League, and he has agreed terms to return to the Brewery Field and play in the EvoStik League.

Moors Manager Jason Ainsley said; “I am really delighted to be bringing Glen back to the club. Not only is he a very good footballer but a tremendous lad.

“Since Glen left two and half years ago I believe he has become an even better player and matured into a fantastic centre forward with all the attributes that suit this league and at 25 he is just the right age.

“Glen has scored over 80 goals since he left and was wanted by host of clubs both in the Northern league and Evo-Stik. When I knew we had a chance of getting Glen I made it a priority of making the deal happen and I'm thoroughly delighted to have finally completed the deal.”

Taylor said; “I went to watch the Spennymoor v Darlington play off semi-final and there was a massive crowd and the atmosphere was brilliant. It was then I thought to myself this is what it's all about.

“It didn't quite work out the last time I was at the club but I've matured as a person and as a player, I've scored plenty of goals in the two and a bit years since I left Spennymoor and feel I am at the right age to return as I have unfinished business.

“I've always said Spennymoor is a great club and after meeting with Jason who I've known for a long time, Anth and Glen I couldn't turn down the opportunity to play at a higher level, where I believe we can challenge for the league title.”
