JOHN CARVER has made three changes to the Newcastle United team as he attempts to find a way to impress eight days after losing to Sunderland in the Wear-Tyne derby.
Jonas Gutierrez, as well as Yoan Gouffran and Sammy Ameobi, have both lost their places as a result of losing at the Stadium of Light, so there are fresh opportunities for others at Liverpool.
Newcastle have turned to Vurnon Anita, Gabriel Obertan and Mehdi Abeid in the hope of ending a winless Premier League run at Anfield which dates back to April 1994.
Head coach Carver, whose side have lost their last four matches, must try to keep out a Liverpool side also struggling to find the form in front of goal which fired them in to a Champions League spot 12 months ago.
LIVERPOOL (4-2-3-1): Mignolet; Johnson, Lovren, Can, Moreno; Lucas, Allen; Henderson, Coutinho, Ibe; Sterling. Subs: Jones (gk), Toure, Lambert, Manquillo, Borini, Brannagan, Markovic.
NEWCASTLE UNITED (4-2-3-1): Krul; Taylor, Janmaat, Williamson, Colback; Anita, Abeid; Cabella, Sissoko, Obertan; Perez. Subs: Elliot (gk), Gutierrez, Riviere, Ameobi, Armstrong, Sterry, Gouffran.
