HARRY KANE has been named among the substitutes for England's Euro 2016 qualifier with Lithuania at Wembley tonight.

Despite the clamour for the Tottenham striker to make his senior debut as a starter, Roy Hodgson has resisted the temptation to make changes to the attacking line-up that has enabled England to win their opening four qualifiers.

Wayne Rooney, who needs three more goals to move alongside Sir Bobby Charlton as England's all-time leading goalscorer, will start as the central striker, with Danny Welbeck and Raheem Sterling on either side of him.

North-East duo Jordan Henderson and Michael Carrick have both been named in midfield, with Aston Villa's Fabian Delph alongside them.

Phil Jones is preferred to Phil Jagielka at the heart of the back four, with Gary Cahill alongside him, and Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne has been selected at right-back.

ENGLAND (4-3-3): Hart; Clyne, Cahill, Jones, Baines; Henderson, Carrick, Delph; Sterling, Rooney, Welbeck.

Subs: Butland (gk), Green (gk), Smalling, Walcott, Jagielka, Milner, Townsend, Kane, Mason, Barkley, Gibbs, Walker.
