MOUSSA SISSOKO has admitted he would find it "difficult to refuse" an offer to join Paris St Germain.

The Ligue 1 leaders discussed Sissoko's position with Newcastle officials at the start of the month, and are expected to make a new attempt to sign the midfielder ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

Magpies managing director Lee Charnley has said he does not expect anyone to leave St James' Park this month, but in an interview with French football magazine Foot Mercato, Sissoko admitted he would find it hard to turn down an offer from PSG.

Sissoko said: "Today, PSG are one of the best clubs in Europe. If they are interested in me, then I would have to think with my agent.

"These would be difficult things to refuse. I would think. I can not say yes or no, but it is an interest that I would have to take into consideration."

Sissoko also revealed that an opportunity to play in the Champions League would have a major bearing over any decisions regarding his future.

He said: "I am 25 years old, and I will be 26 this year. My wish is to play the Champions League, and I have not yet had the chance to play there again.

"I want to play it. I want to be involved in big games. If I have to leave Newcastle, then that is something that I would take into consideration."
