Spennymoor play their first FA Trophy tie in nine years when they go to Harrogate RA in the preliminary round on Saturday.
The last time Moors appeared in this competition was in the fateful 2004-05 season when they lost to Eastwood Town in the third round, and only a few weeks later the club folded.
Moors are now in the sort of mood after six successive wins in all competitions to have a good run in the Trophy, but Ainsley said; βIt will be good to test ourselves in this competition, but we need to be at our best today. Harrogate have a very good striker up front, and another good winger. We will have to be at our best to go through.β
Midfielder John McReady and striker Craig Lynch are both missing, and midfielder Shane Henry has a slight knee injury but otherwise Ainsley chooses from a strong squad of 17, which includes midfielder Keith Graydon, who has submitted a transfer request.
