Last year’s promoted sides go head to head in the First Division of the Durham Cricket League when third-placed Bill Quay entertain leaders Durham City.

Quay name an unchanged line-up following the debuts of Indian professional Usman Malvi and Gibraltarian Scott Chipolina in the draw at Horden last week. Malvi exchanged 40 degree temperatures in Mumbai last Friday for almost sub-zero conditions at Horden the following day, but came through the ordeal well with runs and wickets.

Durham topped the table after a destructive batting display against Boldon CA saw Aussie skipper Jake McCann smash an unbeaten 150 in 30 overs. And he will have three first teamers returning this week with England women’s international Danielle Hazell being joined by Will Allum and Andrew Hutchinson.

Second-placed Easington go to much fancied Mainsforth with the team unchanged from that which defeated Crook last week. Mainsforth should have football fans Martin Lower and John Sweeney returning.

Division Two leaders Marsden have a tough home game against Seaham Park, but have Steven Neilson and Paul Hobson back in the team. Both missed Monday’s win at Langley Park through injury, Neilson troubled by a thigh strain and Hobson a knee problem.

New NTSL leaders Lanchester have Kieron Taylor and Jonny Green back for the game at Percy Main, although they reckon without Jersey international keeper Jake Dunford. Their hosts make two changes with Si Curtis and Jon Prested in for Barry Errington and James Stanistreet.

Ashington overseas professional Anidrudh Singh will be attempting to make it a remarkable four centuries in a row when the Colliers entertain Bedlington who are struggling in the bottom two following three straight defeats. Simon Prudhoe is missing for the hosts so Matthew Storey steps up.

After an injury-free run out for Durham seconds earlier this week Jamie Harrison is set to play for Leadgate when they take on the Swalwell machine. Also back for the hosts are David Richardson and Robbie Hockaday, whilst the visitors only doubt is over the availability of James Welch – Michael Shotton is on standby.

Consett’s title credentials will be fully tested by today’s visitors Shotley Bridge, who are likely to have to do without Graeme Angus because of work, but all being well Ryan Pringle should play, while Consett have that winning feeling before the match has even started following the return to action of Robbie Winn.
