STOCKTON have to cope without both their Durham players when they take on table-topping Tynemouth at Grangefield in the NEPL Premier Division.

The Teessiders are only allowed to select one or the other under league rules, but this is the first time this season that both Keaton Jennings and Jamie Harrison are unavailable.

Jennings, with another county championship century under his belt this week, will be at Trent Bridge, while Harrison is on 12th man duties at the Riverside Test. Harrison’s place will be taken by youngster Haidar Shafiq who has missed the last couple of matches because of exam commitments.

Faiz Fazal makes his farewell appearance for Hetton Lyons when they entertain Newcastle as the overseas star has been selected in the Indian T20 squad. The 30-year-old has played in the IPL with Rajasthan Royals, as well as appearing for India A, so his selection presents a great opportunity for full international honours, but his departure will leave a big hole in Lyons’ resources which are also being stretched by the success of Brydon Carse with Durham.

In the second tier Tudhoe are set for a crucial battle with Sunderland, the loser set to end the day propping up the rest of the division. The two winless sides occupy the bottom two places, but the home team are boosted by the return to fitness of Alex McGrath, and the return of Max Parry. The Wearsiders expect to be unchanged.

Joint leaders Willington are at Brandon and hand a seasonal debut to Connor Hodgson who is on leave from the Army, while Mainsforth, whose star has faded following a bright beginning, entertain Burnmoor. Kieran Jowett is recalled in place of the unavailable Matthew Brown, while the Moor bring in Riley Blunt and Martin Thursfield for Stephen Meek and Kevin Dixon.

Horden are the latest team to have a crack at halting Burnopfield in the Durham CL. The leaders are already 54 points clear after four games, and Horden are hoping overseas star Lal Kumar will be able to produce something special. Sean Bradbury returns to provide additional strength.

Second-placed Easington, who have lost their last two matches, bring in Adam Maddison for the unavailable David Tarn when they entertain an upwardly mobile Castle Eden who have won their last two. Castle are unchanged with South African Tebogo Mokwena settling in nicely after his late arrival.

Four successive defeats have plunged Consett into NTSL relegation trouble, and they need points when they entertain title challengers Lanchester.

With Gary Hunter and Stephen Turnbull unavailable, Andrew Forster returns after a fortnight’s absence and Davie Bridge earns a call-up from the seconds. Lanchester’s form is in stark contrast to their opponents, all four played matches having been won. They have an injury doubt over Mark Small, while Johnny Green replaces the unavailable Greg Halliday.
