Stockton hand a debut to Jaspreet Singh when they play Durham Academy at Grangefield today, after moving to Teesside to join forces with brother Rammy.

The spinner started his career at Sunderland before joining Gateshead Fell and then Benwell Hill, returning to Ashbrooke this winter only to move on after just a couple of games for the Wearsiders. He goes straight into a side that will be missing the influential Richard Waite, the all-rounder trying to rest up a problem with a disc in his back.

Table-topping Chester-le-Street expect to have Mark Turner back in their team when they entertain struggling Tynemouth. Turner should be fit to return after missing last week’s win over South Shields as he rested a strained hamstring.

At the opposite end of the table Gateshead Fell are in all too familiar territory. After an amazing escape from relegation in the last two matches of the 2014 season they already find themselves propping up the rest, and they will need to perform at their best to get anything at Jesmond today where hosts Newcastle have Dimi Ratnayake returning, and hand a debut to Middlesex second team seamer Sebastian Hatchett. David Daley replaces Jonny Roseby in the Fell dressing room.

In the First Division, Eppleton should be able to unveil overseas signing, Kamran Shah, when they go to Willington.

The Pakistani, who has had spells at South Hetton, Castle Eden and Hetton Lyons in the past, was due to arrive yesterday and is in line to replace the injured Joe Dodd. Willington are able to include their new signing, university student Will Phillips, the all-rounder enjoying a decent game on his debut last week.

Sacriston will be missing Lewis Straughair for a month or so. The youngster slipped and fell while bowling last week, and when he tried to break his fall he fractured a wrist. With Mark Fort unavailable, Jack Keall and Craig Robertson are handed opportunities in the game at second-placed Boldon, who name an unchanged line-up.

Leaders Brandon hold a 12-point advantage over Boldon, and it’s a case of back to the future for them when they entertain Tudhoe as the two teams are old adversaries form their Durham County League days. Brandon have only one small doubt concerning team selection, with Jamie Robinson possibly tied up by work commitments.
