Marske are looking for an instant reaction to their defeat at Thornaby last weekend, as they welcome Great Ayton to Windy Hill Lane.

After being beaten by six wickets seven days ago, and being bowled out for only 102, secretary Neil Harvey said: “The performance was poor and it needs to get better with immediate effect.

“We are bringing in Gary Lynch to help strengthen the batting. It’s not an easy fixture obviously, not many of them are in this league, but we need to get better.”

Champions Great Ayton have Andy Liddle and Tom Crown in for Dave Grainge and Josh Thompson and skipper Jon Grainge said: “We are looking to build on a great start to season, but we are wary of a Marske backlash, as they have not started so well this season.”

Marton will be trying to get their first success under their belts, as they entertain Thornaby.

Skipper Alex Wardell said: “We will be bringing in some of our promising young players as Ben Hutchinson and Danny Kitching are both missing. We have not started well, but we will be looking to kick-start our season, with a win against a good Thornaby side.”

Thornaby have Kevin De Silva back from injury and he will replace Harvey Spaxman.

Skipper Paul Allen said: “After a great display last Saturday with a convincing win over Marske, the team is looking to carry this confident performance into the game. Although it is early in the season, we are sixth and are aiming to push into the top four over the next month.”

Middlesbrough had to play with 10 men last weekend, as Mark Gleeson injured his ankle in the warm up, but they hope he’s back to face Bishop Auckland.

Boro skipper Leigh Beaumont said: “We still had a creditable draw at Darlington and look to take those positives into the trip to Bishop Auckland. We also had a great win at home to Thornaby in the Kerridge Cup, with a depleted side. Gleeson didn’t play, but is selected for this game, subject to a fitness test.”

Bishops welcome back Callum Oldfield, after finishing his football commitments and he will be the only change from last week's defeat at Barnard Castle.

Darlington take on Richmondshire, who are unbeaten and the home side make one change, with batsman Lee Hutton replacing young all-rounder Toby Lush.

Richmondshire skipper Gary Pratt said: “We are carrying a few injuries at the moment, with Sam Wood and Dale Marshall out and Rob West unavailable. Josh Dowson and Owen Kelly are promoted from the second team and we need to keep churning out wins, at this stage of the season.”

Hartlepool are at home to Stokesley amid a difficult start to the season and official Michael Gough snr, said: “We make two changes, with Stuart Christon returning for the unavailable Ben Smith and Tom Gavin who has finished his football commitments, makes his seasonal debut as wicket-keeper and replaces Peter Rhoden.”

Stokesley have no injury problems and will be unchanged. Secretary Mark Smith said: “We were slightly disappointed that we didn’t manage maximum points against Marton last weekend, after an excellent batting performance.

“However, we hope to return to winning ways at Hartlepool, after a good victory in the Kerridge Cup against Normanby Hall, last Monday.”

Leaders Barnard Castle are at Seaton Carew and make one change. Ben Usher is unavailable, but could be replaced by Sri Lankan professional Hashan Dumindu.

Seaton Carew go into the game after a convincing 116-run win over Hartlepool on Monday in the Kerridge Cup and skipper Paul Braithwaite, has a full squad to choose from and can welcome back Stuart Lobb.
