Hetton Lyons welcome Eppleton, and visiting Director of Cricket, John Smithson said: “David Wilkinson is out doing best man wedding duties… however, the side is doing well, showing improvement and a win in a derby last week, bears that out.”

Chester-le-Street entertain Felling and will have Kyle Dixon back, but are not sure if Adam Hickey will be available due to Durham commitments.

Fourth-placed Burnopfield host Boldon in third and skipper Gareth Breese mentioned: “Callum Thorpe returns and replaces Neil Killeen who is injured. There could also be a Durham representative turning out. We are looking forward to a hard game, with confidence rising.”

Burnmoor in fifth, welcome Washington and club spokesman Ian Linsley said: “A handsome victory last week has boosted confidence but Washington beat us in the reverse fixture. Owen Lancaster and Liam Burgess are missing, Mark Robson and Mackenzie Wright return.

Washington have skipper Ash Thorpe missing and Jack Burnham is with Durham. Colin Myers and Niall Cutter are the replacements.

In the Go North-East Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League, Lanchester, in sixth place, travel to Percy Main who will be looking to push themselves away from the relegation zone. Laurie Robson is out and Andrew Green is unavailable, so Phil Cramman and Michael Phillips are back.

The bottom two meet, as Leadgate travel to bottom club Ponteland.

Home skipper Jonny Appleby said: “This week is a must win game and we will be looking to try and string a few wins together now. Jack Dobbing and I are missing, but Daniel Wright is back, and Jonny Mole is up from the second team.”

Shotley Bridge, in second place, welcome Consett and visiting Chairman Alan Waters said: “This is a big game, we’re both looking forward to. We have beaten them twice in the last year or so. They did however, beat us in the cup last week, so we’re anticipating a very competitive game.”

Readers Durham Cricket League leaders leaders Seaham Park welcome Philadelphia and the visitors have a few changes.

“In come new signing Ryan Dowens, who has scored more than 400 for Whiteleas this season. He recently joined and debuts. Michael Hall, who has a century to his name in the seconds, is a hard-hitting batsman, with Jamie Parkinson and young James Heydon filling the other three slots.

Second-top Tudhoe entertain Horden, who are at full strength, visiting skipper Carl Watson said: “This will be a really tough game. We beat them earlier in the season, but they had a bit of a poor start, but have worked their way up the table since.”

Durham City are third, and welcome Whiteleas have lost their last three games and must win if they are to get back on track in the promotion race. Skipper Owen Peterson said: “It’s been disappointing, but we are still in a fairly good position, therefore need to be positive in every game. We've been really unlucky with injuries of late, which has affected momentum.”

Leas are without two key players, with wicketkeeper Scott Oliver and all-rounder Rob Scorer missing. Kris McShane is available for the next month as he is back from Australia.

Petersen send the club’s best wishes to Andrew Potts, following major surgery. He said: “Andrew hasn't been available since the end of May, following an operation to remove a brain tumour.

“Thankfully everything has gone smoothly and he's well on his way to a full recovery. He's a big miss on and off the pitch, but we're delighted that he's on the mend.”

Esh Winning in fifth, are at home to Dawdon and skipper Stu Hall said: “We have two changes, Jonny Hodgson and Simon Moralee in for Michael Bussey and Leigh Goodwin. The lads are in good spirit after a superb win last weekend at Whiteleas.”
