Durham start County Championship defence against Essex

DURHAM will begin the defence of their County Championship title in 2010 at Riverside with a visit from promoted Essex side on Thursday 15 April (15-18 April).

The new ECB 40 League begins at home on Sunday 25 April with a fixture against Hampshire Hawks.

The enhanced Friends Provident Twenty20 competition, which is made up of a north and south league consisting of nine teams will see the Dynamos’ Men in Black play eight home and eight away matches during June and July, the first of which is on Friday 4 June when 2009 Twenty20 Cup quarter finalists Lancashire Lightning visit the north east.

In total, Riverside will host three Friday night fixtures including local rivals Yorkshire Carnegie who play at Riverside on Friday 18 June plus three Sunday fixtures which will see the Dynamos welcome Worcestershire Royals and Warwickshire Bears to the region for the first time in this competition.

Durham face New Zealand A at Riverside on Sunday 11 July for a three day tourist match and also welcome the respective England and Australia Under 19 sides for two Twenty20 fixtures on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 August.

Durham’s four day campaign will finish at Riverside for the first time since 2005 when they welcome Somerset on Monday 13 September.

Durham CCC captain, Will Smith, said: "The 2010 season can’t come quick enough. We had a great season last year but we certainly won’t be resting on our laurels. There is a real hunger within the team to keep on improving so that we can continue our run of bringing trophies to Riverside."

Twenty20 Cup Season Tickets are now available to purchase which offer admission to each of Durham Dynamos eight home games. Adult season tickets are priced at £70 and junior season tickets cost just £25.

Durham CCC Membership offers admission to all home LV= County Championship and ECB 40 League fixtures. Prices start at £175 for adults, £150 for seniors and £50 for juniors.
