KENT hold a narrow lead over Durham after the second session of their County Championship Division Two contest at the Emirates Riverside.
The visitors lost Daniel Bell-Drummond early to Chris Rushworth in their reply to Durham's innings of 91, but Sean Dickson and Heino Kuhn found their form at the crease.
Dickson hit three boundaries in a row off Mathew Potts' second over to take Kent past 50, along with the 50-partnership with Kuhn.
Durham issued a response as Potts removed Dickson for 41, while Paul Collingwood and Nathan Rimmington also struck - the latter taking his first wicket for the North-East outfit.
Kuhn and Darren Stevens remain unbeaten at the crease, with the South African looking solid on 37 not out.
