RAIN halted play after 30 minutes on the third day of Durham's Specsavers County Championship match at home to Kent.
Durham's Tom Latham and Graham Clark added 17 runs without losing a wicket to reach 72 for two, leading by 83.
Kent were still without Sam Billings because of illness, so Daniel Bell-Drummond continued behind the stumps and had plenty of balls to take as Adam Milne and Mitch Claydon failed to make the batsmen play.
The lights had been on from the start and more showers were forecast for the afternoon.
