HEWORTH Golf Club is celebrating after successfully wrestling the Clark Cup away from Seaton Carew.
David Morallee, Jason McGuire, Will Marshall, Mark McAllister and Nigel Ralph did the business to prevent the Teessiders from clinching the trophy for the second year in a row.
Seaton Carew’s group of Hugh Hamilton, Phil Nicholson, Ian Hendry, Guy Webster and Rob McGahan were unable to defend the title they won last year when they lost 3-2 to Heworth at Wynyard on Sunday.
Heworth and Seaton teed up the final showdown last month when they both overcame Bishop Auckland and Durham City respectively. Sunday’s final was an entertaining affair which capped a memorable end to the six-round Clark Cup.
