TWO North-East golfers are in the thick of things after the first day of action at the Made in Demark European Tour event.
Harrogate’s John Parry climbed up to within three shots of leader David Horsey after shooting a five-under opening round 66 at the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort in Farso.
And he joined Hartlepool’s Graeme Storm on that score as they both look to make decent headway towards a good finish in attempts to retain Tour cards for a further year.
Parry was on his way to carding a flawless round which included six birdies until he bogeyed the last to drop down a shot to join Storm.
Rockliffe Hall’s Storm’s had posted his own 66 earlier in the day and his only bogey arrived at the 12th.
Barnard Castle’s Rob Dinwiddie has a bit more work to do in his second round after shooting a one-under 70 as he looks to make the cut after making some positive noises on Tour in recent months.
