DURHAM WILDCATS host Birmingham Knights tomorrow afternoon, aiming to end a three-match losing streak which has put a dampener on an otherwise positive start to the British Basketball League season.

Under new head coach Lee Davie, Wildcats enjoyed an impressive start to the 2013 BBL season with three wins in their first four matches in league and cup, but have suffered back to back defeats which culminated in a 58-75 loss to league champions Leicester Riders.

While there was no shame in defeat to the best side in the country, Davie's side have a point to prove at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre tomorrow (4pm tip-off).

"It was disappointing to lose our home unbeaten record against Leicester, but we are determined to get back to winning ways in front of our home fans," said Davie.

"Birmingham will provide another a tough opposition, they have a lot of home grown talent but we are determined to make things right on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Wildcats will take on Sheffield Sharks in the quarter final of the BBL Cup on Friday, November 22, at the English Institute of Sport, the home of the South Yorkshire franchise. Coach Davie’s team came through a tough game with Cheshire Phoenix in the last 16, while Sheffield made light work of London Lions.

The two teams have already met in a league fixture this season, where the Sharks ran out 81-67 winners. Durham will be hoping to get their first ever win over Sheffield and secure a BBL Cup semi-final appearance for the first time in their short BBL history.

Supporters will be able to purchase tickets at Sunday’s home game against Birmingham Knights at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre. A ticket and travel deal can be purchased for £15.00 (limited availability).
