REIGNING US Open boys champion Oliver Golding will be competing at next week's AEGON GB Pro-Series event in Newcastle.

The 19-year-old will be supported by a strong British cast at the $10,000 event, with the likes of Daniel Smethurst, Joshua Milton, Andrew Fitzpatrick, Alexander Slabinsky, James Feaver and Liam Broady also ranked inside the top 20 seeds.

France's David Guez is the favourite to take the title, but will face strong competition from Ireland's James McGee and Belgium's Germain Gigounon.

Tournament director Richard Joyner said: "With the entry list now confirmed there promises to be some exciting tennis on show at The Northumberland County Ground.

"With the clay-court season now in full swing, Oli Golding will be looking to build on his first pro singles title won at Bournemouth last week, with a number of other British players also in contention for the title. This event is a great opportunity to get close up to the play of some high-quality tennis."

Entry for spectators is free, and the tournament starts on Monday, with the final scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 13. More information is available at www.lta.org.uk/AEGONGBProSeries
