ROO'S THAT GUY?

Manchester United entertain Chelsea in the biggest Premier League clash of the weekend tomorrow, and all eyes will be on the in-form Wayne Rooney.

The Manchester United striker will be out to secure a hat-trick of hat-tricks after recording a treble in his last two top-flight outings.

August's hat-trick against Arsenal was followed by another one against Bolton last weekend, and while Chelsea's defence rarely gives much away, Rooney will take some shackling.

At the other end of the field, it will be interesting to see if Andre Villas-Boas continues to prefer Daniel Sturridge over Fernando Torres in the absence of Didier Drogba.

The youngster scored a beauty at Sunderland last weekend, but Torres returned to the starting line-up for Tuesday's Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen.

SWANS SINKING FAST

Swansea's Premier League stay is destined to be a short one unless they improve on a dreadful goalscoring record that has seen them fail to find the target in any of their opening three games.

Today's visitors to the Liberty Stadium are West Brom, and while Roy Hodgson is renowned for his organisation, if the Welsh side don't break their duck soon they are really going to struggle.

Much of the pressure will fall on the shoulders of former Middlesbrough striker Danny Graham, who has missed a string of decent opportunities since moving from Watford in the summer.

Swansea have already received plenty of plaudits for the quality of their football, but it won't matter a jot if they don't start hitting the back of the net.

TIME FOR McCLAREN TO HIT TOP GEAR

Former Middlesbrough and England boss Steve McClaren is already under pressure, with his Nottingham Forest side struggling in 21st position in the Championship.

They host local rivals Derby County today in the A52 derby, with the two cities separated by Brian Clough Way.

McClaren was a coach at Derby before moving to Manchester United, and he could certainly do with his former club doing him a favour this afternoon.

Forest, who will be without the injured George Boateng, are still to win at home this season. Derby are expected to hand a debut to former Forest striker Nathan Tyson. Might the script already be written?

CLARK ON THE MARK

Lee Clark's Huddersfield Town are unbeaten in 33 matches in regular league football, with their only defeat coming in last season's play-off final to Peterborough United.

The former Newcastle United midfielder has established a reputation as one of the most highly-rated young managers in the Football League, but his side face a stiff test this afternoon as they travel to in-form MK Dons.

Carl Robinson's side suffered a surprise 3-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in their last outing, but remain fourth in the League One table, a place behind Huddersfield.

Today's game could go either way, but expect both sides to be involved in the promotion shake-up next May.

IMPING ALONG

After being relegated from the Football League on the final day of last season, Lincoln City have made a dreadful start to life in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

The Imps are struggling in 22nd position in the table after winning just one of their opening eight games.

Their boss, Steve Tilson, is already coming under pressure from the club's supporters, and the heat will only intensify if, as expected, they lose at Luton's Kenilworth Road this afternoon.

Luton beat Darlington 2-0 last weekend and have claimed ten points out of 12 from their home games so far.
