GRAEME Storm made his first cut of the season and carded his best finish at the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco this afternoon.

Storm, playing with new caddie Dave Renwick, finished 20 shots off Welsh winner Rhys Davies but he will at least be satisfied to have made a solid return to action at the Royal Gold Dar Es Salam course.

Playing in his first tournament since missing the cut at the Dubai Desert Classic five weeks ago with a persistent shoulder problem, the Hartlepool golfer carded a level par 73 today on the back of a two-under par 71 on Saturday.

His form was enough to earn him a little more than £6,000 for finishing tied 43rd, which will offer him encouragement after missing his first four cuts of the year.

Storm's final round was largely made up of pars with the exception of a birdie at the eighth being cancelled out by a bogey at the last.
