DARLINGTON rally driver Guy Wilks was third fastest on the opening stage of Rally Argentina tonight in front of 12,000 spectators.
Kris Meeke (Peugeot UK) won the rain-hit 4km stage through Carlos Paz in 2mins 32.8 secs - 1.4 seconds ahead of Portugal’s Bruno Magalhaes (Peugeot).
Wilks was third in the Skoda UK Motorsport Fabia S2000 in 2mins 35 secs.
Speaking afterwards he said: “It was very slippery in places. We enjoyed it, but we knew we could have lost a lot of time to anybody here.”
