MIDDLESBROUGH-born skier Sean Rose endured a tough day in the Giant Slalom at the Winter Paralympic Games in Vancouver.
After the competitor ahead of him crashed Rose's run was stopped and he had to return to the top of the mountain and start again, during which time conditions had deteriorated significantly.
Rose skied impressively to finish 14th in the first run but his attempt to make up time on his second run backfired when he crashed out of the competition.
Heavy fog forced organisers to rearrange the skiing programme meaning that Rose still has a chance to medal in his preferred event, the downhill, when it takes place on Thursday March 18.
