Defender Alan White has re-joined Darlington after completing a loan move from Luton Town.
The 33-year-old centre-back has signed for his homwe town club until the end of the season and becomes Steve Staunton’s sixth signing of the January transfer window.
White is Staunton's third signing in a day, after striker Patrick Dean moved from Hibernian and midfielder Gareth Waite arrived from Spennymoor Town.
Staunton on Thursday brought in defender Simon Madden from Shamrock Rovers.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be bringing Alan back,” said the Darlington boss.
“It’s a terrific signing for us and one that I’ve been keen to do since the window opened.
“What was very pleasing was that Alan was desperate to come back. He loves his home town and couldn’t get up here quick enough to do the deal, which shows how much he’s desperate to play for us and to help us stay in League Two.''
White left Darlington last summer after making 85 league and cup appearances before joining Blue Square Premier side Luton, where he’s played 22 games this season but has not featured of late under new boss Richard Money.

It's nice to hear a local lad wants to get back home and help the cause.
I think it also shows that he didnt want to leave but had to because of the need to "work",and just leaves the question hanging,Who else that was forced to go in the summer would like to return?
