McQueen, who can play at left-back or further up the field as a left midfielder, completed his loan move this morning.
The 23-year-old is a product of the Southampton youth system, and boasts almost 50 senior appearances for the south-coast side.
He made his first senior appearance in a Europa League game at the San Siro almost two years ago, and had been capped by England at Under-21 level.
He becomes Boro's sixth summer signing, following Aden Flint, Paddy McNair, Andy Lonergan, Jordan Hugill and Mo Besic, and is available to feature in tomorrow night's Championship game at Leeds United.
