MIDDLESBROUGH'S trip to Germany ended in a 2-1 defeat to Augsburg, despite a fantastic late goal from Lewis Wing.

The former Shildon man was introduced as a second-half substitute and he hammered in a fine 25-yard goal when the Bundesliga outfit were two up.

Daniel Baier had put Augsburg ahead nine minutes before the break before Andre Hahn doubled the advantage on the hour.
