DYLAN McGEOUCH and Reece James are both undergoing medicals at the Stadium of Light ahead of their proposed moves to Sunderland.

McGeouch travelled to Wearside this morning after opting for a move to the Black Cats ahead of alternative offers from Rangers and Aberdeen.

The Scottish midfielder is a free agent after rejecting the offer of a new deal at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.

James, a left-back who began his career as a trainee with Manchester United, is also completing a medical after agreeing terms with Sunderland officials.

The 24-year-old is a free agent following his release from Wigan Athletic last season, having joined the Latics in 2015.

The pair’s arrival should be formally confirmed later today, and will link up with the rest of Sunderland’s first-team squad at their training camp in Portugal.

Sunderland have already completed four signings this summer, with Alim Ozturk, Jon McLaughlin, Chris Maguire and Tom Flanagan all having joined the club.
