SPENNYMOOR TOWN have ramped up their preparations for the new National League North season by announcing a host of new signings.

Defender Kris Thackray has joined Moors after helping Maltese club Gzira United qualify for the Europa League last season, while FA Trophy Jake Hibbs has moved from Halifax Town.

Former Football League centre-half Rob Atkinson has signed terms at Brewery Field having previously represented Barnsley, Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley, with full-back Stephen Brogan switching from fellow National League North side Boston United.

Goalkeeper Matthew Gould, who is the son of former Scotland and Celtic shot-stopper Jonathan and the grandson of FA Cup-winning manager Bobby, has joined Moors from Stourbridge.
