CRAIG HARRISON yesterday started a new chapter in his managerial career, and wished his former club the best of luck.

Appointed Hartlepool United boss 362 days ago, he was yesterday named boss of Bangor City on a two-year deal after being sacked by Pools in February.

Linked with jobs at Chester and Telford, Harrison is now free to take over at Bangor, back in the League of Wales where he made his managerial name with TNS.

“I wish everyone at Hartlepool United all the best,’’ he said. “I hope there’s some stability there under Mr Singh and the club is successful.

“It’s a fantastic club. The supporters there deserve success and they care passionately about their club. It’s been a tough couple of years for them, but I really hope they turn things around.

“I’ve no regrets about taking the job when I did, it just didn’t work out while I was there. Problems off the pitch were well-documented and results weren’t good enough. I will never hide from anything and I know it wasn’t good enough.

“There’s some very genuine and hard-working people at the club and I wish everyone all the very best.’’

He added: “I’ve had some time away from football which was nice at first, but then there’s the urge to get back into the game. This job has come at the right time for me and it’s a big challenge.’’

His new club finished second in the table, but have been relegated from the Welsh Premier League to the Cymru Alliance after failing to get a domestic licence from the Welsh FA and promotion is his instant target.

Pools yesterday announced a season ticket price freeze for next season, while under-12s season tickets are free.

Early bird prices are £250 for adults, the equivalent of under £11 per game.

A new offer means Under 12s accompanied by a full-paying parent or guardian are given a free ticket.

Seniors, students and Armed Forces personnel early bird is £150 – or £6.52 per game next season. Under 19s early bird is £125, U16s £75.

Season tickets are on sale now and the early bird offers are available until Wednesday, July 4. Prices rise to £299 (adults), £175 (students, senior citizens, armed forces), £150 (U19s), £95 (U16s)

The club’s new chief executive, Mark Maguire said: “With new ownership we’d love to come in and slash price but we have to be realistic; the club relies upon the loyalty of its fantastic supporters, who showed last season what they are prepared to do to ensure we survive for the long-term.

“What we can do though, is reward families and, by making sure a season ticket is more accessible to them, we are safeguarding the long-term future of the club.’’
