NEW World champion Rob Cross will take on popular Scotsman Peter Wright when Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena hosts the third week of the Premier League Darts series next month.

Cross is making his Premier League debut after trouncing Phil Taylor in last month’s World Championships final, and his meeting with Wright will be one of the highlights of the North-East leg of the event on Thursday, February 15.

World number one Michael van Gerwen will take on Gary Anderson in a repeat of the 2015 Premier League final, with his fellow Dutchman, Raymond van Barneveld set to take on Simon Whitlock.

Two Premier League newcomers will go head-to-head when Daryl Gurney takes on Gerwyn Price, while Michael Smith will line up against Mensur Suljovic.

The Premier League begins in Dublin on February 1 – Cross will play van Gerwen on the opening night – with the semi-finals and final due to take place at London’s O2 Arena on May 17.
