THE FA CUP third-round tie between Middlesbrough and Sunderland will take place on Saturday, January 6 (1pm).

The details of the game at the Riverside Stadium were released this morning.

The clubs have already met on Teesside in the Championship this season, with Marcus Tavernier's early strike having handed Middlesbrough a 1-0 win.

Sunderland will be hoping to extract some revenge at the start of the new year, with a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup at stake.

Sunderland will have near to the 15 per cent allocation allowed for a cup tie. They will have 4,451 tickets, which has been slightly reduced to allow for segregation on police advice.
