NATHAN Cartman is leaving Darlington.

The striker is joining Farsley Celtic, a club the Halifax-born forward had a loan spell with at least the beginning of this season.

The transfer fee involved is described as undisclosed, understood to be a five-figure sum.

He has announced this morning: "Just short of three years at this great club with so many fantastic memories. Time for a new challenge!"

He has been part of some wonderful Quakers moments in recent years and scoring some crucial goals - strikes in the play-off final versus Bamber Bridge in 2015 and the late winner at Salford City in 2016 will live long in the memory.

Farsley manager Adam Lakeland said: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Nathan back to the Football Club. He is a player I have admired for a long time, a natural goal scorer and a proven goal scorer

“We had him on loan at the start of the season and I thought he applied himself really well. His movement and pace proved a real threat, and the only disappointment was his goal output in that month. Ultimately his partnership up front didn’t work just as we would have liked.

“I really feel we’ve got the ideal fit with Nathan coming to the club. He’s local, he’s at the right age as he’s in his prime at 28, and most importantly he wants to play for Farsley Celtic. I am really looking forward to linking up with him again.”
