Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley says that trips to places like Kidderminster are what Moors have been looking forward to this season.

Moors are looking for their fifth away win of the season at Aggborough and in so doing continue to prove that they have been far from overawed in their debut season in the National League North. They are currently fourth in the table, having won seven and lost four of their 14 league games so far this season.

“Away games at places like Kidderminster are the days we’ve been looking forward to ever since we came into this league,” said Ainsley.

“It’s not so long since that they were a Football League club, and we’ve tended to do well this season in games like this.

“It’s a shame that we’re going there on the back of a defeat against Curzon Ashton last week. We played our best football of the season in the first half, but then after half time we fell apart and we were all over the place. We need to stop giving away sloppy goals, and aim to be consistent. The standard I’m looking for is our first half performance last week.

“Our away form hasn’t been too bad this season, it’s better than our home form. Maybe it suits us to have teams coming on to us away from home so then we can counter attack them.

“We need a good result this week, because we have some though matches coming up. Our next one is against Chorley, who have just got through to the first round of the FA Cup.

“Kidderminster will be dangerous. They got to the play offs last season, but they started this season slowly. However, they’ve been gaining momentum recently and started climbing the table.

“They’re a very good attacking side, and we will need to be at our best.”

Central defender Chris Mason is missing because of suspension following his dismissal last Saturday, so James Curtis is likely to replace him. Midfielder Rob Ramshaw also comes back into the reckoning.
