Trimdon

U9s

Leven AFC Juniors 0 Trimdon United 4

Trimdon U9s played away to Leven, starting off slowly as they usually do.

They started to press the opposition and had a few good chances, converting one. Not long before half time they converted another, going in 2-0 up. Trimdon came out the blocks quickly in the second half and scored a belter into the top corner and then another screamer in the other top corner, running out 4-0 winners. This keeps the team's unbeaten league run going with three wins out of three.

In the second game, a friendly, Trimdon didn’t convert their chances, with Leven nicking a goal and running out 1-0 winners.

U10s

Billingham Juniors 4 Trimdon Utd 1

The U10s lost their first league game away to Billingham 4-1.

They were 1-0 down after three minutes to a good goal but after that picked themselves up and created a string of chances, hitting the post and crossbar numerous times before Camden found the back of the net It was 1-1 at half-time. With seven minutes of the second-half to go Billingham scored a breakaway goal. At this point Trimdon got frustrated and let their heads go, resulting in them conceding another two goals. Nathan Corner was Man of the Match.

U11s

Trimdon United Juniors 6 Acklam AFC 0

Trimdon united juniors U11s got their first win of the season against a hard-working Acklam FC side who were only able to field seven men. Acklam put in a strong defensive performance, but once Trimdon made the breakthrough the result was never in doubt and the match ended in a 6-0 victory.

A second half Dean Wilkinson hat-trick was a great personal achievement, but the day belonged to the whole team who played as a unit and kept a positive attitude and mentality. Charlie Townes was awarded Man of the Match by the opposing manager.

U13s

Trimdon U13s 4 Cleveland Juniors Pumas 4

The Under 13s drew 4-4 at home to Cleveland Juniors Pumas in a hard-fought game that saw every player doing their best.

The lads came from behind three times to eventually get their noses in front at 4-3 only to be pegged back with minutes to go.

Some excellent saves from keepers Noades and Peat, strong defensive work from Keaveney, A MacKinnon and Atkinson with a battling midfield show from Dixon, Carter, Griffiths, Bradley and Faye MacKinnon and hard running forward work from Shaw and Hennessey well supported from substitutes Bettinson, McMenam and Stokes.

Goals today came from Griffiths (three) and Hennessey, with both lads scoring with stunning long-range efforts.

U14s

Trimdon United 1-2 Thirsk Falcons Claret

THE first five minutes, Trimdon were still half asleep and went 2-0 down.

But then Anya and the lads turned it on and could not do any more. They dominated 80 per cent of this game hitting the post five or six times with the Thirsk keeper pulling off some great saves to keep them in the game. Although it was the best the team had played, they just could not get that second goal.

Stockton Town

U14s Yellows

STOCKTON Town eventually ran out 7-2 winners against a game Bishop Auckland Kings side that were in this match until midway through the second half.

The game was two-all at half time and the landslide that followed could not have been predicted.

But Stockton dominated the second period and were clinical in their finishing.

Goals came from Ward (three), Westcott, Clennett, Todd and Brown.

Leven AFC

LEVEN AFC juniors U7s played Stranton AFC and were defeated for the first time in the league this season.

There was a strong first half performance by the home team, however Leven drew level on the stroke of half time with a goal from Mason.

Two further goals in the second half finished the game.

The final score was 3-1 to Stranton. Man of the match for Leven was Lake for a brave performance in defence.

Newton Aycliffe Juniors

The Northern Echo:

Aycliffe Under-7s

IT was another busy weekend of Aycliffe Juniors footballing action.

Younger teams are starting to establish themselves with one side playing their first game. The older sides are looking to progress their league positions.

The Under 6 development team really enjoyed their first ever friendly match at Shildon. A great effort from all the lads saw them win an exciting game 7-6.

The Under 7s played at home against Billingham United Hornets and won 3-1. They went 1-0 down but equalised with David scoring from a free kick. In the second half Alex and Harry scored to seal the win.

The Under 8s played away at Leven AFC and their hosts proved to be as good a side as their recent results have suggested. Two goals from Thomas could not prevent defeat. Josh was named as man of the match for his great performance.

The Under 9s were at Sunnydale facing Billingham Juniors. This was  a very good performance and two goals from Marley secured a 2-1 win in a game where Kai was the man of the match.

The Under 10s 'Black' faced local rivals Ferryhill Town. The first half ended 0-0 as the two sides cancelled each other out.

Jayden scored to put Aycliffe ahead but Ferryhill equalised from the penalty spot and the game ended 1-1. Jack had a great game in goal and was chosen as the man of the match.

The Under 10s ‘White’ played against Darlington FC. They secured a 2-0 win with both goals coming from Niall. The boys played some lovely passing football creating lots of chances as was needed to beat strong opposition. Connor was the game's man of the match.

The Under 12s Russell Foster League team played away at Swalwell Swifts. Aycliffe played well in parts of the match but slipped to a 7-0 defeat. Bo was named as man of the match for a great game at right back.

The Under 12s TJFA League team traveled to play Stockton Town and the game was drawn 1-1. A great free kick from Charlie was finished by Will to give Aycliffe the lead but Stockton equalised with ten minutes remaining. Both keepers were needed to make great saves in a good competitive game.

Two goals from Clark and another from Hardy opened up a 4-1 lead. Sedgefield scored two late goals but Aycliffe held on to win 4-3. Charlie Cayless was named man of the match by the opposition coaches.

The Under 16s played table topping Redcar Town Royal and they put in a great performance to open up a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. Stoker, Burrows and Dixon were the scorers.

In the second half Redcar got one goal back before Halliday completed the scoring in a fine 4-1 win.

Ferryhill

FERRYHILL town Youth Under-9s hosted Stockton West End.

Ferryhill got off to a good start going ahead 1-0, before Stockton equalised before the break.

Ferryhill stepped it up a gear after half-time with some fantastic long range attempts on goal, eventually winning comfortably 5-1.

Goalscorers were Wilkinson (2), Chaytor (2) MOTM,  Vayro (1).

The second game was more end to end with some great play by both teams, Ferryhill again taking the lead before being 3-1 down in the second half.

Ferryhill didn't stop and managed to salvage a 4-4 draw. Goals from Tracy (2),Potts (2), MOTM Bowmer.

Thirsk

U16  Thirsk Falcons 3 Cargo Fleet 1  TJFA Division 2

THIRSK started off brightly and dominated possession and passed the ball well stretching their defence and Luke and Cal provided some fizzing balls across the box without anyone getting on the end of them.

They went 1-0 up after a fantastic delivery from a corner by Harvey, despatched decisively by a header from Archie.

Cargo Fleet levelled soon afterwards after some indecisive and sloppy defending and tackling by the lads.

However, they went 2-1 up from a handball in the box and well taken penalty from Jack.

Thirsk seemed to be coasting after that and reached half time hardly tested with Matty S keeping charge of his goal.

More of the same in the second half was requested by the coaches. We all felt that another goal would have finished off the opposition.

The third goal came after Sam came off the bench and injected pace and aggression finishing off a fine move by the team.

They continued to create more chances but just couldn’t finish the game off.

Matty S made a couple of fine saves and some ping pong in the box did not result in the ball crossing the line.

Riverside Juniors v U9 Thirsk Falcons Clarets

CLARETS played to their potential with some lovely football on show at Middlesbrough Sports Village.

Within 20 seconds Clarets set the tone to dominate and show off what they have been doing in training. Pass, move, run forward, receive, shoot was the theme and the coaches were very proud of each player.

U9 Thirsk Falcons Golds V Catterick Jaguars

AN unseasonably warm autumnal day saw the U9 Golds take on Catterick Jaguars at TAC.
They used their new formation again. With full backs flying up and down the wing they had some good passages of play up top early in both halves but found it hard to combat the size of the opposition.

When they got the ball down on the ground and looked up for the easy passes they played around and through Catterick very well, however they need to work on being first to the ball when it’s loose.

Catterick were the first to the ball more often than not but when Falcons had the ball, the link up play between the front three was encouraging.

U15 Thirsk Falcons 1 v Bishop Auckland St Mary’s 1

THE first half saw Falcons under pressure but soon settle down.

Seb put in a good cross trying to find Harland or Killian but Bishop Auckland defended well.

Falcons found it difficult to get the ball forward.

However, a good run by Killian saw a cross to Harry but Bishop Auckland won the ball.

It was 0-0 at half-time.

In the second half, Falcons were awarded a penalty with Harry scoring to make it 1-0.

Bishop Auckland came back and a shot was tipped over the bar by Jacob for a corner. Falcons defended it, but Bishop shot on goal and equalised.
MOM Ryan Brierley - Opposition, George Pollard.

U11s Thirsk Falcons Blue v Stokesley

ANOTHER bright and sunny morning and away at Stokesley.

A promising start from the Blues, creating plenty of passes and chances on target.

Stokesley had an exceptional goalkeeper who was not letting anything past him!

First half was steady away but Stokesley had the edge.

The second half was a completely different story altogether. Thirsk never quite regained their spirit and their heads went down.

Stokesley seized this opportunity and never gave in. A disappointing day all round for the Blues.

Mount Pleasant Rangers v U14 Thirsk Falcons Blues

AFTER a poor start to the season and leaking goals the U14 Blues took the trip to Darlington to play Mount Pleasant.

From the off both sides looked up for the game and worked hard to create any kind of passage of play.

Mount Pleasant worked the ball well in midfield but the midfield trio of Harry, Oliver and James stopped them playing for the first 20 mins.

The opposition then broke and scored the first of their goals. Not to be disheartened the Falcons kept playing football, the ball broke to Aaron who poked the ball under the keeper to make it 1-1.

Well-deserved equaliser at that point.

The whole team working and defending tirelessly conceded a corner which after a bit of a scramble Mount Pleasant scored to make it 2-1.

Unfortunately for the blues a third goal soon followed, but unlike previous weeks their heads did not drop.

Just before half time Emily broke up the play and played a ball forward - a couple of passes later and Ethan broke free out wide and looped the ball over the keeper to make it 3-2.

With tiring legs from the bare 11 players Mount Pleasant kept pushing and scored three more times. Final result 6-2

U9 Thirsk Falcons Blues v Whinney Banks

A BEAUTIFUL autumnal morning saw a depleted U9s side take on the powerful Whinney Banks team, and what a game they had.

Both teams had a pretty solid midfield, so chances were had either on the wing or over the top, which made for some pacey and bouncy balls up and down the pitch.

The first half was a really even game and was tit for tat from beginning to end.

Some dogged defending from Whinney Banks denied us some shots and runs, but equally, our battling, skills and passing abilities gave us an awful lot of chances against a disciplined team.

The second half opened up a little, and some of the dynamics changed in the game, but the concentration and determination on the pitch never wavered and Thirsk battled until the end.

It was a great performance considering they had no available subs – they talked, moved off the ball and, more importantly, they stood their ground and let the opposition think a bit more, forcing the opposition into errors.

Top marks to a great Whinney Banks side as well – great skills, cracking tackling and good sportsmanship.
