SPENNYMOOR manager Jason Ainsley could make changes in his team’s defence after they lost for the second time in four days.

Moors have dropped down the table to tenth place after this defeat and the one against York last Tuesday, and after conceding seven goals in their last two games, Ainsley is looking at ways to shore up his defence, which has suddenly started leaking goals.

“We gifted them two of their goals, and at the moment, I’m disappointed with the way that we’re defending,” he said. “We are shooting ourselves in the foot by gifting goals just after we’d got back into the game at 1-1. Our keeper, Dan Lowson, never really had a save to make. There will be changes for Tuesday night.

“Suddenly after looking good defensively and keeping clean sheets at the start of the season, now we’ve conceded ten goals in the last five matches.

“But even when we were 3-1 down, we had the chances to get something out of the game. Overall, I was disappointed with our performance, we never really got going, which was disappointing after our great efforts against York on Tuesday.”

Tamworth, who included former Darlington player Aman Verma, took the lead after 10 minutes when Bradley Reid headed in, but Moors had a great chance to equalise through Mark Anderson from close range but he missed with the goal at his mercy.

Callum Powell and Reid both went close for Tamworth before the break, and Moors levelled four minutes after half time with a speciality free kick from 25 yards by Kallum Griffiths.

Lowson denied Verma from close range, and soon after Tamworth regained the lead when Powell broke away and set up Darryl Knights to beat Lowson, then Knights scored the third with a deflected free kick from 25 yards after a foul by Jamie Chandler.

But Moors could still have got something out of the game because Brad Fewster and Rob Ramshaw both missed good chances near the end.

Moors: Lowson, Griffiths, Chantler, Dixon (sub Henry74), Tait, Curtis, Orrell (sub Chandler 46), Ramshaw, Taylor, Johnson (sub Fewster 46), Anderson.

Subs: Mason, Porter.

Moors are at bottom club North Ferriby on Tuesday night.
