Supported by team-mates Hannah Farran and Jenn Batey as their preparation for next month’s Tour of Malta remain on course and the team cemented their place as one of the top ranked women's teams in the UK rankings.

Meanwhile, Dan Bigham produced a fantastic solo performance for the men's Brother NRG DriverPlan team to take the win at Darley Moor.

The team sent a strong six-man team for the Sam Walton Memorial, including previous winner Martin Ford.

Great Ayton’s Charlie Tanfield was the key representative in the winning move which went only 10km into the 140km race.

Alex Luhrs, Will Brown and Hartlepool junior Will Corbett comprised a ten-rider chase group which couldn’t get closer than 45 seconds to the winning move.

Eventually, Tanfield finished fourth, with Luhrs and Brown seventh and ninth and junior Will Corbett producing an excellent performance for 10th.

The Sam Walton team then headed to the Spring Shield to complete the final preparation ahead of the HSBC UK Spring Cup first round in East Cleveland next weekend.

Aaron Preston, on fresh legs, took a deserved victory over Harry Tanfield with Richie Allen third to preserve the 100 per cent success rate in the four race series.

Junior Toby Tanfield also rode to victory with a final three-lap solo effort for his first win in the team’s colours.

The team consolidated their position at the top of the National Rankings with Dan Bigham moving to the top of the Elite Rankings and Jack Rees and Alex Luhrs sitting well within the top ten.
