Newcastle United entertain Bristol City at St James’s Park looking to do the double over the Robins, who attracted their biggest crowd in 26 years at Ashton Gate back in August when a single Dwight Gayle goal proved the difference.

The Magpies are 8/15 with the visitors 6/1, the draw at 10/3 –Gayle went off injured during the win against Aston Villa earlier in the week, and Aleksandar Mitrovic is likely to get the nod up front.

The Robins have only taken nine of their 32 Championship points so far this season on their travels and they are unlikely to get anything at St James’s Park. Newcastle to lead half-time and full-time is 11/8 at BetVictor and that looks a fair price.

The last time David Moyes went back to his former club Everton was in April 2014 when his Manchester United side were beaten 2-0 and he was subsequently sacked!

Romelu Lukaku scored a second-half hat-trick when the sides met at the Stadium Of Light earlier in the season and went one better against Bournemouth in his last game at Goodison so it is fair to say that if the Black Cats can keep the Belgium international quiet they can get something from the game.

Sunderland are 15/2 to become only the second side to beat the Blues in the PL this year and no side has taken more points in 2017 in the league than Everton (14). Despite these sobering stats I feel the Black Cats can get at least a much-needed point with the recommendation the 21/10 at BetVictor for Sunderland to either win or draw in the double chance market.

Boro kept Everton at arm’s length at the Riverside in their last PL game and they will be desperate to get something at Selhurst Park. Boro have only conceded 13 times on the road in the PL and Crystal Palace have failed to score in four of their last five PL games – a goal-fest it is unlikely to be but the natives will be restless if the Eagles don’t get their noses in front early.

None of the last 15 league games between the sides has finished in a draw at Selhurst Park so one is due!

The draw is the recommendation at 11/5 and it might be worth noting you have to go back to his Bolton Wanderers days (September 2003) for the last time Sam Allardyce managed a winning PL side against Boro.

Hartlepool start the weekend 13/8 to be playing National League football next term and travel to Colchester United. The U’s are odds on favourites at 3/4 with the draw 3s and Pools 15/4 at BetVictor – back in November Colchester were in the bottom two in the table but seven wins in eight games propelled them up the table and they are fighting for a play-off spot.

The sides drew 1-1 on the opening day of the season and another 1-1 draw (15/2 at BetVictor) is the recommendation.
