SUNDERLAND defender Papy Djilobodji is facing a potential four-match ban after the Football Association charged him with violent conduct.
Djilobodji was caught on video raising his hands to West Brom Darren Fletcher in the closing stages of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at the Hawthorns.
Referee Craig Pawson has admitted he did not see the incident, and the FA have subsequently charged Djilobodji retrospectively.
The Senegalese centre-half has until 6pm tomorrow to respond to the charge.
If he is found guilty, he will almost certainly receive a four-match ban as he already been sent off against Hull City this season.
An FA statement said: “Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite officials.
“Each panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence.
“For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision of the panel must be unanimous.”
