A YOUTHFUL Darlington team went out of the Durham Challenge Cup last night, beaten 3-0 at Stockton Town.

First-team players Mark Bell, Leon Scott and Jordan Watson all played, the latter for an hour, while on-loan Tom Davie completed the 90 minutes, Quakers’ team otherwise being made up of teenagers.

The Northern League opposition took the lead on 28 minutes when Kallum Hannah burst through and side-footed past goalkeeper Mark Bell from ten yards, but Quakers claimed that there was a foul on defender Matthew Ridley in the build-up.

Winger Davie, on loan Bradford PA, was Quakers’ most likely player to score and inside 120 seconds he saw a left-foot shot from an acute angle saved by Arthur, and with his next chance he fired diagonally across goal.

It was 2-0 four minutes into the second half after a corner, Hannah heading in for his second goal of the night, and ten minutes later it was 3-0 when Bell could only parry a low shot by Kevin Hayes, and Chris Stockton side-footed home the loose ball.
