Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley has told his players to forget about the FA Cup for their big away EvoStik League game at second placed Buxton today.

The excitement is building towards Moors’ big FA cup tie at MK Dons on 5th November, but Ainsley is targeting maximum points in the two league games before the big day. They also have FA Trophy and Durham Challenge Cup ties to contend with as well before the trip to Stadium MK.

“We must forget about the FA cup for the time being, it’s important that we do well in the other competitions.

“Buxton will be a tough game, they’ve got a very good home record, and on last week they beat Whitby 3-0.

“The players must rise to the occasion, because they’re fighting for their shirts.”

Moors scored twice in the dying minutes for a draw at Grantham in midweek, and Ainsley said; “That was the best we’ve played for a while, but some uncharacteristic defending gave them some goals. Football-wise we passed them off the park, and that’s what we must continue to do.”

Only Glen Taylor, who has an ankle injury, is missing from today’s squad.
