Middlesbrough (4-2-3-1):

4 Konstantopoulos: Should have done much better with Bowditch’s goal, which he somehow allowed to squirm through his grasp

5 Nsue: Was defensively solid for the majority of the night, but wasted a number of decent crossing positions

6 Kalas: Proved a decent enough deputy for Ayala, although he doesn’t have the same dominant personality as the Spaniard

4 Gibson: Made a complete hash of dealing with the long ball forward that led to Bowditch’s goal

8 DE LAET: Continued in the same vein as Saturday, rampaging down the left-hand side and delivering the cross for Rhodes’ equaliser

6 Leadbitter: Saw plenty of the ball at the heart of midfield, but wasn’t able to deliver a telling through ball to his forwards

6 Forshaw: Tried to be pro-active whenever possible and produced an excellent second-half tackle to deny Emmanuel-Thomas

5 Stuani: Fired a first-half effort much too close to Martin in the MK Dons goal and failed to offer much after that

4 Ramirez: A disappointing debut that saw the Uruguayan struggle to break beyond the MK Dons back four

4 Downing: Couldn’t pose a threat from his wide position on the left-hand post and sent far too many crosses to an opponent

5 Nugent: Wasted the one real chance that came his way when he dragged a decent second-half opening past the post

Subs:

7 Rhodes (for Forshaw, 68): One chance, one goal – surely the Scotsman has to start when Boro travel to Leeds on Monday?

5 De Pena (for Stuani, 68): Came on in a left-midfield position but didn’t really feature as Boro chased the game

Kike Sola (for Ramirez, 84)

(not used): Mejias (gk), Fry, Clayton, de Sart.

Man Of The Match

RITCHIE DE LAET – The full-back has made quite an impression in his first two outings since joining Middlesbrough on loan from Leicester City.
