Stourbridge 4 Spennymoor 2.

Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley blamed “silly individual errors” for their exit from the FA Trophy by 4-2 at Stourbridge on Saturday.

Moors led 2-1 at one point in the game and it looked as if they would extend their unbeaten away record in all competitions, but then they gifted the premier division side a way back into the match.

“Generally I’m pleased with the performance, but again we gave away some sloppy goals because of silly individual errors,” said a frustrated Ainsley. “I’m sick of going over the same old ground and complaining about mistakes. They’ve got to stop, otherwise the players concerned will be leaving the club.

“We should have been out of sight, but we gave away some cheap goals, because of sloppiness in dangerous areas. Some of our players were brilliant in the game, but others weren’t.”

Moors hit the post through Liam Henderson early on as they started the better of the two sides, with Gavin Cogdon and Andrew Stephenson also forcing good saves.

However Stourbridge took the lead through Mark Wright, but Joe Tait levelled with a header from a Stephenson corner.

Twelve minutes into the second half, Moors took the lead when Stephenson burst through and scored a good goal.

However, Moors conceded a needless free kick from which Stuart Pierpoint scored from, and then Henderson lost possession inside his own penalty area, allowing Justin Richards to score.

Stourbridge made sure with eight minutes left when Wright pounced on a mistake by Moors keeper Dan Lowson.
