Spennymoor will be hoping for better finishing when they replay their FA Cup preliminary round tie on Tuesday night against Harrogate RA following a goalless draw on Saturday.

Moors had the lion’s share of possession in the game, but couldn’t turn it into goals.

Liam Henderson, James Risbrough, Lewis Dodds and Joe Tait all failed in front of goal in the first half, with Moors keeper Dan Lowson only forced into real action once at the other end.

In the second half, the Harrogate keeper Tom Goodwin pulled off excellent saves from Tait and Andrew Stephenson, while sub Gavin Cogdon had a shot cleared off the line.

Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley said; “We must have had 70 or 80 per cent possession in the game, and we had chances to put the game to bed, but we just couldn’t score.

“To dominate the game as much as we did and only come away with a replay, is very disappointing.

“Our crossing was disappointing, the ball always seemed to hit the first man.”

Top scorer Glen Taylor dislocated his toe in an accident at home on the morning of the game. “That’s two strikers we’re missing out now. Danny Frost is out as well with a foot injury.”

Moors: Lowson, Griffiths, Mason, Dodds (sub Kerr), Tait, Risbrough, Stephenson, Henry, Henderson, Fisher, Peacock (sub Keithley)
