Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley reckons that his side has the perfect incentive when they go to Harrogate RA in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The prize for the winners will be a home tie against Blyth in a fortnight’s time and Ainsley said; “It’s a great incentive today, because Blyth have a such a great FA Cup pedigree, and reached the third round proper last season. It would be great to test ourselves against them.”
Ainsley will still be missing striker Danny Frost because of a foot injury and new full back Michael Hoganson because of appendicitis.
Nathan Fisher is almost certain to start up front after scoring a hat trick in the 5-1 away win at Ossett Town in midweek.
“Once Nathan scored his first the other night, his confidence oozed through. I’m a big believer in players keeping the shirt, and he deserves that.”
The clubs have already met once this season, in the league at the Brewery Field when it was a 1-1 draw.
