BEDALE’S Dan Brown suffered final day disappointment to drop out of contention at the Brabazon Trophy.
Brown, who made his first outing in the competition after receiving an invite at Seaton Carew 12 months ago, finished with a seven-over 79 to drop down to tied 50th on the leaderboard.
That meant a four-round total of ten over, leaving him a substantial 17 shots shy of the eventual winner from Ireland, Cormac Sharvin.
After three steady rounds of 73 at Notts Golf Club, Brown could not find his putting stroke and did make a birdie on Saturday. He made bogeys at two, seven, 12 and 14, while there was a double bogey at the 11th. Darlington’s Aaron McManus missed the half-way cut on 16 over.
